Nurse Practitioner. Aesthetics Provider. Skin Expert. And someone who has been obsessed with skin long before medical aesthetics became my career.

My journey into aesthetics didn't begin with a syringe—it started with skincare.

In 2012, I entered the beauty industry through cosmetology and began working in a spa environment, where I spent years both at the front desk and in the treatment, room performing facials and waxing services. I later returned to school to become a licensed massage therapist, which allowed me to expand my understanding of the body, wellness, and hands-on care while continuing to provide skincare treatments.

But I always knew I wanted to do more.

In 2016, I decided to take my career in a completely different direction after an unexpected source of inspiration: the nurse who delivered my second daughter. She was both a massage therapist and a registered nurse, and something about seeing those two worlds come together clicked for me.

At first, I actually considered medical school because I wanted to become a dermatologist. Then I researched exactly how many years of school that would require and quickly reconsidered. Although after all the schooling I've completed since then, I probably could have become one anyway!

Instead, I chose nursing—and that decision ultimately brought me exactly where I was supposed to be.

From the Spa to Critical Care

I graduated from nursing school in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, at a time when spas and salons were closed and the world looked very different.

So, I went to the hospital. What initially felt like a detour became one of the most valuable parts of my career.

I worked in cardiac critical care and later emergency and critical care nursing, spending approximately five years caring for patients in high-acuity environments where situations could change in seconds.

That experience taught me how to assess a patient beyond what's immediately visible, recognize when something isn't right, think critically, respond quickly, and—most importantly—remain calm under pressure.

Looking back, I'm incredibly grateful for those years because my long-term goal was always to own a medical aesthetics practice. I believe that providing aesthetic treatments isn't simply about knowing how to perform a procedure. It's about understanding the person you're treating, knowing anatomy and physiology, recognizing complications, prioritizing safety, and having the clinical judgment to know when not to treat.

Eventually, I continued my education and became a Family Nurse Practitioner, bringing my two worlds—medicine and aesthetics—together.

Where Beauty Meets Medicine

Today, after more than 15 years in the beauty and aesthetics industry, I've come full circle.

I'm the owner and nurse practitioner behind SKIN | Medical Aesthetics Atelier in Plainsboro, New Jersey, where I get to combine everything, I've learned throughout my career. And yes—I still love doing facials.

The difference is that now, when skincare alone isn't enough to achieve someone's goals, I have the ability to take their treatment further.

I can look at your skin from both an esthetic and medical perspective and create a plan that may incorporate professional skincare, chemical peels, microneedling, regenerative treatments, injectables, or other advanced aesthetic services when appropriate.

I'm especially passionate about helping patients struggling with concerns like hyperpigmentation, acne, acne scarring, texture, and the visible changes that come with aging. I don't believe in throwing treatments at someone's face or chasing every new trend. I want to understand what's bothering you, why it's happening, what you're realistically willing to commit to, and then build a plan around you.

What You Can Expect in My Chair

I want you to feel comfortable asking questions. I want you to understand why I'm recommending something before you agree to it. And if I don't believe a treatment is appropriate for you, I'll tell you.

My goal isn't to change the way you look or convince you that you need something you don't. It's to combine my background in skincare with my medical training to help you make informed decisions about your skin and aesthetic goals.
