You'll see a difference right away. Swelling settles over 1–2 weeks, when your final result shows. Filler typically lasts 6–18 months, depending on the area and product.
Planning for an event? Book at least 2–4 weeks ahead so any swelling or bruising has time to fade.
Aftercare
Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 24–48 hours.
Don't massage the area unless we ask you to.
Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night to reduce swelling.
Avoid dental work for 2 weeks before and after treatment.
Ice gently if you have swelling or bruising.
Who should not receive filler
We'll recommend waiting or choosing another treatment if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have an active infection, rash or cold sore in the treatment area
Are allergic to lidocaine or any filler ingredient
Have a bleeding disorder
Have dental work scheduled within 2 weeks .
If you get cold sores, let us know before a lip treatment. We may recommend an antiviral beforehand
Possible side effects
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and usually resolve within a few days to a week. Lips tend to swell more than other areas. Less commonly, you may notice small lumps or slight asymmetry, which can usually be corrected at a follow-up. Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel, which requires immediate treatment. This is one of the most important reasons to choose a medically trained injector. Brauna is trained to recognize and treat this, and we keep hyaluronidase on hand at every appointment.
